ABOUT
Stephane Gripari Photographer
Stephane Gripari was born in 1953 in Alexandria, Egypt, to a Greek father and a French-Italian mother. He spent his childhood in Egypt, Greece, Switzerland, Somalia, Libya, Zaire and Italy before moving to London in 1973. He started taking photographs at the age of twelve and has travelled extensively as an adult, a camera always around his neck. After a 14 year stint in a shipping office, he trained in 1991 with Jorge Lewinski, the acclaimed Polish-born photographer (Senior Lecturer of Photography and Art History at the London College of Printing).
An artist in multiple media, from film to wood sculpture, "ArchiTexture" at Blackall Studios gallery, in June 2011, was his second solo photographic show, following his sell-out exhibition "China" at the Hellenic Centre in London in May 2008. His work has also been exhibited in St Remy de Provence, France in May 2010.
He has worked as a film stills and studio photographer, provided images for websites and more recently, with Aecom, on a project for The National Competitiveness Foundation of Armenia.
All his photos are for sale. They are signed and in Limited Editions of 5 or 9 Prints.
News
The main event in London this summer is admittedly the Olympic Games however the whole city will be buzzing and there are many other interesting events taking place around the capital including many imaginative photography exhibitions. Here are my top picks of photography exhibits to visit this summer.
It seems that everyone in the UK is contributing and getting involved in the Olympics in all sorts of exciting and inventive ways. The photography world is playing its role in 2012 by making an Olympic LomoWall made up of over 30,000 photographs contributed by swathes of lomography enthusiasts.
Stephane accepted a commision for a Townhouse designed by Staffan Tollgard Design Group.
